Swimsuit season is here in the South. I’m 2 babies out, I hate exercising and I’m vain. {sigh} This means a one piece until I have courage to go bathing suit shop again.
When I first went shopping for my first one-piece since I was 6-years-old, it was immediately after birthing my second baby, and I cried. Purchasing a one piece suit made me feel OLD, but I’m narrow in lots of non-stomach places so I did not want my postpartum body being mistake for a pregnant body. I don’t have that kind of self-esteem (evident from the crying in the changing room scene).
After a year or so, I forgot about the bumps and curves of my reset waistline and wore an old bikini. A 7-year-old bikini. A pre-baby honeymoon bikini. (I’m really setting this terrible decision up but seriously, did I even look in the mirror? The answer is no.) Accepting my reset waistline is not helped by wearing old bathing suits that don’t fit as I later found out through photos of myself on the beach that week.

This was the best of the worst photos. I'm not knocking my post-baby body as much as pointing out that I should be wearing a bikini that fits.
Although I will eventually find a new bikini for this year after that summer I was too mortified to consider it and too tired to suck it in. Plus, I’m wimpy when it comes to the cold pools my children insist on jumping in.
But I was embarrassed to rock a granny one-piece at this point. I felt stuck until I found this bathing suit:

Cute suit does not include tan legs much to my having-to-post-this-picture chagrin.
I feel hot. I feel good. And I don’t feel like I need to suck it in.
I will probably try to find a good bikini this summer, too, and maybe even do a sit-up, but in the meantime, I’ll be rocking out in my Tommy Bahama bathing suit. (Who ever thought I’d say that? Nobody, that’s who.)
Ps. I also saw some awesome suits on some beautiful shapes and sizes over at Curvy Girl Guide.
Disclaimer: I was not compensated for this post. I’m just vain.

Cute! Shabby Apple http://www.shabbyapple.com/c-55-swim.aspx and Modcloth http://www.modcloth.com/shop/onepiece-swimwear also have some adorable one-pieces, in case you need more.
Ooh I also like the barefoot black bottoms at on that shabby apple page.
It looks GREAT on you. I only wear one pieces, now. Because of the cheese.
LOVE the bathing suit and super confidence
I, too, have a “reset” waistline. (I love that. Gonna use that from now on.) And I have a SKIRTED bathing suit!!! It’s SCARY how old I’m getting! You look great, BTW. I may have to go online swimsuit shopping now…..
Oh no! The skirted suit. I actually have a bathing suit dress that I bought immediately after having N. It makes me sad.
Omgosh I hate bathing suit shopping but I love that one. You’re all femme fatale in it.
That suit looks great on you! I love wearing one pieces because they look good on me (I gain all my weight in my stomach) and they don’t fall off in the ocean and expose me like my two piece suits do. I bought this one last year and love it:
