I have great hair. I’m not bragging, it is a fact. From the time I was little the statement “Wow, you have great hair” has followed me and my flowing locks everywhere. “I wish I had your hair” and “I can’t believe how thick your hair is” are also commonly used. That last one comes from my hair stylist, who is both amazed and annoyed with just how many strands of hair are attached to my head.
I became obsessed with having my hair perfectly done at the age of 4. I refused to go to preschool until my lovely locks were styled, forcing my dad to learn how to braid and pig-tail my hair. This obsession with beautiful hair followed me through my college and young adult days, forcing me to spend hours with my locks and drop ridiculous amounts of money on hair care products. It was an illness of sorts. Don’t worry, I was cured. I became a mom.
With three small, frequently screaming children, things like the perfect hair style start to lose their importance. I stopped buying the expensive products, practically retired both my flat and curling irons, and only break out my blow dryer for special occasions. Now I rock a pony tail 6 out of 7 days a week. It’s pretty sad, but practical.
Instead of making a trip to a beauty supply store and spending $60 on products, I buy all my hair care stuff at the local big box store for less than $20. I was hooked on a specific brand (it made my hair smell good) when Suave Professionals hit the market. I was intrigued by the commercials; they called out to my hair obsessed inner self. I wanted them. To my surprise, they were a whole dollar cheaper than the brand I have been using for a couple of years! This sealed the deal and two bottles of Suave Professionals dropped into my cart.
As each of my products at home ran out I replaced it with a bottle of Suave Professionals. Now there is nothing but the silver bottles of Suave in my bathroom. I absolutely love them, and the fact that they are significantly cheaper than my old brand is just icing on the cake!
Suave Professions Sleek Shampoo and Conditioner: I’m not going to lie, my favorite thing about the shampoo and conditioner is that the 32 oz. bottles are the same price as my old 24 oz. bottles. This translates to an extra month of clean hair for the same price. It doesn’t smell as good as my old brand, but because of the pump I use a lot less conditioner and my comb slides through my locks just as easily as it did before. So that’s a win in my book.
Suave Professionals Sleek Anti-Frizz Cream: This is my favorite product in my bathroom; it really helps to keep the frizz at bay. I am surprised at how well it works, especially in the South Texas heat and humidity. It makes my hair softer and smooth. The worst part is that the little 3.5 oz. bottle only lasts me about a month. But since it’s less than $5 dollars, I can afford to keep my hair frizz-free! Take that, $14 a bottle Anti-Frizz Serums! I can’t say enough good things about this product, it really is amazing.
Suave Professionals Touchable Finish Hairspray: This gives me just enough hold without making my hair sticky or heavy. I have only used it for every day hair and have not tried anything crazy like an up-do or wedding hair, but it keeps my ponytail smooth and my messy bun, well, messy.
Suave Professionals Dry Shampoo Spray: I would love to tell you that this product is amazing too. While it does make my hair look “fresh” and grease free between washes, it also makes my head itch. I mean, “Pass me the Head and Shoulders, my scalps on fire!” kind of itch. Sorry Suave, but I have to give this product a thumb down. I’m not fan of itchy scalp.
Overall I have been pretty impressed with Suave Professionals and look forward to trying more of their products. It’s been a couple of years since I spent big money on professional products, but this stuff makes me feel like I did without losing the cash. I love the design of the bottles and products themselves. Thank you, Suave; you made this budget-minded, strapped for cash mama happy! Keep up the good work!
Disclaimer: I did not receive any compensation from Suave for this post. If Suave would like to pay me in products to become a hair model, please email me ASAP. I have good hair. And I’m almost out of shampoo.

I do love your hair!! Very gorgeous! You have mentioned this line before, but not such depth. I am totally going to check them out. I currently use Pantene, but up to trying something new. Thanks or sharing!
I use a lot of Suave products, too, and they seem just as good as expensive things!
